CNT 111 Overview
CNT 111 is one of four courses that comprise the 1st quarter of the CNT Certificate Program. Survey of Electronics with Mathematics is the first course in the CNT program. Topics covered include: atomic structure, schematic symbols, International System of Units, Ohms Law, DC circuits, magnetism, AC circuits, electronic terminology, binary, hexadecimal, octal, ASCII, and personal computer power supplies. Learning activities include: classroom discussion with active participation, problem solving assignments, lab exercises using electronic tools, lab reports may be clearly handwritten or prepared on a computer, home assignments of approximately two hours per night, pop quizzes, a quiz for each major topic, and a final examination for the course. This course is 36 hours long (six days) and two college credits are earned.
